**Opportunity

**

Several days ago I was approached by a random stranger that asked me if he could spent the night at my dorm room. He told me he was making this grand trip all over the world. He planned on seeing the world without any money, any friends, any security or even a place to stay. He was definitely out of his mind by common standards :).

Normally I’m open to new experiences but for some obscure reason I decided to decline his offer. He gave me a link to his website on which he had already posted some videos of him travelling the world.

Regret

When I checked his website later that evening I was amazed at all the places he had been and the people he had met. Life seemed like such an adventure to him. He looked so alive. So I decided I didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity. So I immediately grabbed my bike and drove back to the place where I initially met him. Only he was nowhere to be found.

We could have had a great conversation about dreams and life in general but I was just to stuck in my head to trust random strangers. I regret the fact that I didn’t take that learning opportunity. It just goes to show that opportunities only strike once and that you need to grab them when you have the chance. Even if that means you have to do something challenging/uncomfortable.

If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. And that is exactly what I’m looking for in life.

Fearcomfort-challenge-fear

Besides the fact that I missed this unique opportunity, I admire his courage to challenge himself on such a level. Who has the courage these days to actually follow their dreams? Who doesn’t let external factors stop him/her? Who isn’t afraid to take risks? Everyone is. But I believe that it’s sometimes better to be crazy and challenge yourself!

If you let fear control your life, you will never grow. Be crazy from time to time. Be mad-crazy. I invite you to challenge yourself. I invite you to do something crazy or stupid. Go wild!

What are you afraid of? Would it make you stronger if you did it? Life is to damn short to let it be run by fear instead of courage. Fear is only as deep as our mind allows.

Essence

Take risks and grab opportunities. These are the moments that will make you feel more alive than you’ve ever been. I need to remind myself more often that life is an adventure if we want to see it that way.

Anyways, thanks for reading my post. If you’re having any thoughts or questions (or something random to say), feel free to share that in the comment section below.
Take care!
